Why Learning Support Program (LSP)?
Los Altos Christians Schools’ Learning Support Program (LSP) , offered to Jr. Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle School and High School students, is dedicated to teaching children in the way they learn, using a multi-sensory approached to education across the curriculum.
Core Principles
Each subject is taught on grade level using multisensory methods such as Slingerland, Orton- Gillingham, Lindamood-Bell, Step-Up-to Writing, Making Math Real, and others. Our LAD program emphasizes small self-contained classes incorporating visuals, listening strategies, and hands-on learning. This type of education allows students to develop new skills while also creating a greater understanding in all academic areas.
Our program is designed for students who have average to above average intelligence, but are experiencing academic difficulties due to specific learning differences such as:
- Dyslexia
- Auditory processing disorder
- Attention deficit disorder combined presentation (ADD/ADHD)
- Sensory processing disorder
- Executive function challenges
We are also ideal for students experiencing academic difficulties in a general education classroom.
