Service Projects

One of LACS’s goals for its graduates is service. LACS therefore provides several opportunities to instill the value of service and charitable giving in our students. We achieve this by selecting two charities to support financially each year. Our goal is to not only have a local impact, but also a global impact on the lives of others.

Global: Hands of Hope

LACS’s global outreach project this year is Hands of Hope. This is an organization started by the parents of our 3rd grade teacher, Ms. Miller. Hands of Hope works with orphans in Zimbabwe to provide much needed food, education, clothing, medical attention, counseling, and shelter.

Local: Guide Dogs for the Blind

The local organization that will be supported by LACS this year is called Guide Dogs for the Blind. This organization prepares highly qualified guide dogs to serve and empower individuals who are blind or have low vision. Students will have the opportunity this year to meet some of the puppies that will in the near future be trained to become guide dogs. We hope that our student council will have the opportunity to visit the guide dog training center this year.
