Karen McKeown

Karen McKeown has enjoyed working in education for two decades as a teacher, instructional coach and administrator. She has extensive training and experience in meeting the needs of English Karen McKeown has enjoyed working in education for two decades as a teacher, instructional coach and administrator. She has extensive training (Social Thinking, Wilson Reading System “Just Words”, Constructing Meaning, Step Up To Writing, Readers and Writers Workshop, SIOP-Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocols and Systematic ELD), and experience in meeting the needs of all students including, but not limited to English Language Learners. She is deeply familiar and experienced with the learning needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She is also in possession of a well-developed sense of humor.
Ms. McKeown has a Masters degree from UC Berkeley in Educational Administration. She has won multiple teaching awards, and most importantly, Ms. McKeown has some great thank you notes from teachers and families. She has two children who attend LACS.
