
Karen McKeown
Karen McKeown has enjoyed working in education for two decades as a teacher, instructional coach and administrator. She has extensive training (Social Thinking, Wilson Reading System “Just Words”, Constructing Meaning, Step Up To Writing, Readers and Writers Workshop, SIOP-Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocols and Systematic ELD), and experience in meeting the needs of all students including, but not limited to Gifted and Talented, Special Education and English Language Learner Students. She is deeply familiar and experienced with the learning needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She is also in possession of a well-developed sense of humor.
Karen has a Masters degree from UC Berkeley in Educational Administration. She has won multiple teaching awards, and most importantly, Karen has some great thank you notes from teachers and families. She has a child who attends LACS.
