Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Program at Los Altos Christian School
We are excited to introduce the Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Program at Los Altos Christian School (LACS), designed specifically for children who are four years old by September 1, and able to use the restroom independently. Our TK program bridges the gap between preschool and kindergarten, offering our youngest students a nurturing and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
Program Philosophy and Goals
Our TK program aims to provide a smooth transition from preschool to kindergarten, focusing on the holistic development of each child. We emphasize hands-on learning, social-emotional growth, and foundational academic skills to prepare students for future success.
Key Features of Our TK Program
- Limited Class Size: Our TK class is capped at 10 students. Apply now to secure your spot, as space is limited.
- Full-Day Program: The program runs daily from 8:25 am to 2:00 pm.
- Extended Care Options:
- Kinder Care: Available from 2:00 pm to 3:15 pm, free for students with older siblings at LACS.
- Before-School Care: Available from 7:30 am to 8:15 am.
- After-School Care: Available from 3:15 pm to 6:00 pm
TK students will also participate in our co-curricular classes, including Art, Music, PE, and STEAM Lego
Robotics.
Sample Daily Schedule
- 8:25 am: Arrival and Morning Circle Time
- 9:00 am: Language and Literacy Activities
- 9:50 am: Snack and Recess
- 10:30 am: Math Exploration
- 11:40 am: Lunch
- 12:05 pm: Recess
- 12:30 pm: Co-Curricular Classes/Science Exploration/Bible/Social Studies Activities
- 1:30 pm: Social-Emotional Learning Activities
- 1:45 pm: Afternoon recess
- 2:00 pm: Dismissal or Transition to Kinder Care
