Transitional Kindergarten (TK)
Los Altos Christian School’s Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program provides a joyful and purposeful start to a child’s academic journey. Designed for children who are ready for a full-day learning experience, TK bridges the transition from preschool to kindergarten in a nurturing, Christ-centered environment.
Our TK students are known, supported, and encouraged as they grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
Program Highlights

Enrollment is intentionally limited to ensure personalized attention and strong relationships. - Full-Day Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:25 am–2:00 pm - Rich, Balanced Curriculum
Students engage in language and literacy, math exploration, science, Bible, social-emotional learning, and co-curricular classes, including Art, Music, PE, and STEAM LEGO Robotics. - Developmentally Appropriate Learning
Instruction is hands-on, engaging, and designed to build confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
Extended Day Care Options
To support families’ schedules, extended care is available:
- Before-School Care: 7:30–8:15 am
- Kinder Care: 2:00–3:15 pm (complimentary for students with older siblings at LACS)
- After-School Care: 3:15–6:00 pm
Sample Daily Schedule
- 8:25 am – Arrival & Morning Circle
- 9:00 am – Language & Literacy
- 9:50 am – Snack & Recess
- 10:30 am – Math Exploration
- 11:40 am – Lunch
- 12:30 pm – Co-Curricular Classes / Science / Bible / Social Studies
- 1:30 pm – Social-Emotional Learning
- 2:00 pm – Dismissal or Transition to Kinder Care
Eligibility
Children must be four years old by September 1 and independent in restroom use.
