The LACS Lions Code
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)
At Los Altos Christian School, we believe God has called each of us to live in a way that honors Him, shows kindness to others, and helps our school be a place where everyone feels safe, loved, and respected.
How We Treat Others
I am a peacemaker.
I solve problems with kindness and respect. I speak directly to others, not behind their backs, and I stand up for anyone being mistreated. If I need help with this process, I can ask a teacher or staff person to help with this process/conversation. (Matthew 18:15)
I use words that help, not hurt.
I speak kindly and truthfully. I don’t gossip or say unkind things about others. (Ephesians 4:29, 4:15)
I listen before I speak.
I listen carefully and patiently, without interrupting. (James 1:19)
I treat everyone with respect.
I include others, speak kindly, and never hurt people with my words or actions. If I realize I have made a mistake and done this, I apologize to that person for my actions. (Matthew 7:12)
I encourage others.
I cheer on my classmates, work well in groups, and look for ways to build others up. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
I help everyone feel welcome.
I smile, say hello, and offer help when someone needs it. (1 Corinthians 16:14)
How We Learn and Serve
I take responsibility for my learning.
I try my best, ask for help when I need it, and keep learning every day. (Proverbs 22:6)
I do my part.
I finish my work, help in group tasks, and keep my promises. (Galatians 6:2)
I honor my family and teachers.
I listen respectfully, follow directions, and show gratitude. (1 Peter 4:9)
I serve others.
I look for ways to help at school, at home, and in my community. (Matthew 5:16)
I take care of my space.
I keep my area neat and help keep our school safe, clean, and organized. (Colossians 3:23, Matthew 5:41)
I keep growing.
I stay open to learning, accept feedback, and ask God to help me grow in wisdom and character. (2 Peter 3:18)
