Vilma Rondez

Vilma has a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and associate degrees in Liberal and Religious Studies.  She has over 15 years of experience in Christian and public schools as an elementary grade teacher.  She worked as a reading teacher at a public elementary school district in Watsonville for five years. She worked with 1st-5th grade students who spoke no or very little English during this time. Her primary focus was on phonetics instruction, vocabulary development and improving reading fluency. She also worked as a teacher in 4th and 5th grade classrooms. She served several students with learning differences. Vilma successfully used each student’s IEP to create a learning program that helped him or her to succeed in her class. Vilma incorporated the concept of Multiple Intelligence into her teaching on a regular basis. She completed Educator Level 1 Orton-Gillingham Training.

Three of her grandchildren currently attend LACS and are excited that “Lola” will be joining the staff.  When she is not spending time with her family, Vilma is passionate about ministry and mission work. She and her husband, Reynold are members of a non-profit Christian organization that supports pastors in impoverished areas of the Philippines and India.
