Born in Pucallpa, Peru, Mary Carmen grew up in the Amazon rainforest. She taught chemistry and biology at local schools for several years before coming to California, where she now teaches Spanish! She has a degree in Natural Sciences from the National University of Ucayali. Outside of work, she gives Amazonian-style massages, drinks Boba tea, and eats food at Charley Noodle & Grill.
