Dear LACS Families,
The year is off to a great start on our beautiful campus where families enroll their children to develop leadership, pursue academics, build character, and learn to place service before self. For over 37 years LACS has provided a rigorous yet unhurried Christian curriculum built on a legacy of excellence leading to a future of brilliance for each student.
As we continue the LACS mission, I would like to ask for your support of our LACS Annual Fund to help our students receive the best we can offer in programming and facilities for years to come. Donations to our LACS Annual Fund may be given generally, or earmarked for specific categories of school improvement including, security, building fund, technology, athletics, scholarships, art, or music. You may send a check made out to Los Altos Christian Schools labeled with one of the above categories, email me directly with a request for stock transfer, or click on our Givelify link at https://giv.li/7534rx to give online at any time.
Over the past three years, LACS has worked with Bridges Community Church, our school board, and our parent-teacher fellowship to make progress throughout the campus. We have upgraded the interior of Burkhart Hall, constructed a new preschool playground, expanded curriculum materials, increased technology at the elementary level with iPads and a laptop cart, created a middle school one-to-one laptop program, engaged in an 8th grade partnership with NASA and the International Space Station, expanded our music program, and completed a project to enhance our playground fencing and equipment.
In order to continue to enhance our curriculum, facilities and programs, we need your help. Our vision includes funding the update of our elementary computer lab by the fall of 2019. We want to continue updating our campus security systems with completion in all buildings by the spring of 2020. We plan to add a transitional kindergarten class next fall and begin offering a high school on campus which will begin with a ninth grade class in the fall of 2019. We would also like to tear down Peterson Hall, and re-build a new Education Center in its place for elementary, middle school, and high school use within the next two to three years depending on fundraising and city permitting.
During this school year, our goal is to raise $500,000 as a school community. You can help us meet or exceed this goal by giving a donation to the LACS Annual Fund today. Thank you for your time and consideration, and please contact me directly if you have any questions about our LACS Annual Fund. It would be my honor to meet with you to talk in person about the hopes and dreams we have for the development of Los Altos Christian Schools.
