The kids were at the starting line by 9:00 am just itching to go! We had our greatest turn out yet, with approximately 200 students walking to raise money for the Scholarship Fund. With inspirational music blaring, kids with sticky faces from snow cones, and lots of smiles, it was a wonderful day for a wonderful cause! We could not have done it without the amazing planning and execution by the Tam, Golden, and Negrette families. Thank you for all of your hard work. Special thanks also to Heidi Garland who designed the fun red t-shirts that brought so much spirit to the event! What do a Teacher, a Parent, and an LACS Alum have in common? They all wanted to join the fun and help raise money for the Scholarship Fund! Thanks to Teacher Brad Burman, who ran an amazing 223 laps; Parent John Blaha, who took a challenge and walked 80 laps in only 2 hours; and LACS Alum Jason Daughtry who ran hard all day! The lap cards have yet to be completely turned in and money has yet to be collected, so we cannot give you the numbers in those areas. But, we can share with you some other fun information and photos! 2008 Poster Winners Every year it is a tradition that the students design posters for the Walk-a-Thon. The posters are then hung around the track to encourage the walkers. Although ALL of the posters were done so well and such a treat to have hanging around the playground, following are the contest winners for this year by grade.

Dining For Dollars There will be one more Dining For Dollars on, Wednesday, May 28th at Fresh Choice in Mt. View. As it will almost be the end of the school year, homework should be minimal and the kids will probably appreciate the opportunity for another get-together. So, mark you calendars!
Another date to save is the evening of Tuesday, May 20th . The Middle School and Upper Elementary Grades display their amazing science projects in the gym. Its a treat to walk through their display boards and marvel at their hypotheses and findings. The younger Elementary Grades show their work as budding authors and beautiful masterpieces of art are shown by all grades. Its a special evening all around be sure not to miss it! REMEMBER YOUR e-SCRIP! Don't forget to sign-up for e-SCRIP, Safeway and Albertson cards! Make your dollars work for you, as the school will get a share of every dollar you spend. It is fast and easy and will pay great dividends to the school. Many thanks to Susan Redelfs for taking charge of this worthwhile project and making it happen for our school. We all appreciate your time and help in making these projects work for our school and our children. Tops for EducationLos Altos Christian School started collecting Box Tops for Education earlier this year! It's an easy way for the school to receive up to $60,000 per year from three Box Top programs. Below is a quick overview of these three programs. We currently have accumulated almost $75 and we are sending in the box tops at the beginning of every month. Please remember to bring your box tops to the LACS office so we can take advantage of this great program.
