Announcing Additions to our Teaching Staff!

 

LACS is opening a first grade learning assistance department class! This class is for students who have mild to moderate learning differences and would benefit from the learning environment of a small class. The class size will be a maximum of 10 students to 1 teacher. Our new 1LAD teacher is Ms. Audra Robinson who is a LACS graduate. She started in the 1 LAD class, went through the LAD program, then on to Valley Christian High School, and graduated from William Jessup University. She will be completing her master’s degree and California at Bethany University this summer. If you know of any child who could benefit from this class, please contact La’Sha Heard, the school registrar, at 650-948-3738.
 
LACS is also pleased to announce that we have hired a kindergarten teacher for the school year 2011-2012. Robin Pride (Edwards) has accepted the position. Many of you may remember Robin from the year she taught in our preschool. Robin brings many strengths and talents to our staff.  She has ten years teaching experience in elementary school and has taught preschool through 5th grade.  She received her BA from Mills College, has a clear CA multiple credential with CLAD certification, and a M. ED. in Curriculum/ Instruction and Assessment.  She is a dynamic teacher who will continue to make our Kindergarten a wonderful experience for the students and their families.  We feel blessed to welcome her back to the LACS family!
 
It is a pleasure to announce that LACS has a new music teacher, Cindy Fletcher, for the school year 2011-2012. Mrs. Fletcher earned her BA in music from Wellesley College and went on to Santa Clara University for her MA in Interdisciplinary Education. She studied in Salzburg, Austria as an undergraduate. Mrs. Fletcher was a violinist for Campus Crusade.  She was a teaching assistant at the Ben Franklin International School in Barcelona, Spain and has taught second and fourth grades here in CA. Mrs. Fletcher has taught music at Pinewood, Los Altos Public Schools, and our own Los Altos Christian Preschool. We are happy to welcome her as one of our staff.
