  • A program to give the students the added accommodations, time and tools as recommended on their accommodation checklist for success.
  • A bridge between the Learning Assistance Department (LAD) and high school to help the students’ transition from a self-contained, personal classroom to a large non-personal environment with only accommodations and/or modifications given.
  • A program that has the ability to give more study time, extra time on tests,  and organizational help
  • A teacher/advocate who notes accommodations/modifications for students and disseminates that information to all middle school teachers
  • Students learn to advocate for themselves
  • Sign Language is offered as a foreign language helping students with language based differences a more kinesthetic way to learn a foreign language
  • Special language arts class (separate classes for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades) and if needed a general math class
  • Incorporates appropriate technology to meet the needs for students such as using the Kurzweil System
