Extra Curricular Activities

Leadership Opportunities
Middle School students are offered opportunities for leadership. The Middle School Advisory Council meets twice monthly to discuss concerns, offer ideas and suggestions, and plan upcoming social events. For example the idea of the annual carwash came from a student on the Advisory Council. Students may also participate in student council which leads the entire school in community service projects.

The Middle School students reach out to the community in many ways. The annual car wash raises proceeds for City Team Ministries. At Christmas, the Middle School goes caroling through the neighborhood to build goodwill and share the good news of Christ’s birth.

Middle School is also a time for the students to grow socially. The students plan monthly activities such as an afternoon at the movies, dances, ice skating, and more.

The sixth graders spend an exciting week at science camp and the seventh graders visit Alcatraz Island. Eighth graders will spend a week touring New York City, Washington DC, and other places of historical and cultural significance.

Spiritual Life
The spiritual life of the Middle School students is very important. The Middle School chaplain leads Bible class. Applying biblical principles to everyday life is an important skill for this age group. Weekly chapels are lead by the chaplain and pastors from the sponsoring church. The students look forward to these times of worship.

Bible and chapel are designed for maximum participation and interaction including breakout and discussion groups. This facilitates spiritual and social growth and development. Students have the opportunity to hear relevant topics by guest speakers who inspire and motivate them to apply spiritual principles and to actively live out their faith.
